Look What I Found

July 7th, 2012 | Posted by Emma in Uncategorized

We did a major basement clean-a-thon last week…look what I found! My girl scout uniforms!! I have a couple shirts, a skirt, a cute little bow tie/collar thingy and these, the all-important badge-holders!

I had so much fun pouring over these badges all over again….trying to remember the names and projects we did to earn them. I think I could find my books with a little digging and that would be even more fun. But for now, I was happy to just look at them…

OH AND SEW THEM ON!!
Have to admit, this is probably my oldest UFO! Yes, Mom, I know I should have sewn those on years ago!!

Here are some more great photos. Those badges are really works of art! My boys thought they were so cool!

And of course, Brennan had to try on the vest!

He wants me to sew some badges for him. I think that sounds like an awful lot of work…maybe he should just join the girl scouts. Never mind!!

OMG! Now I am going to have to look for mine. I think I have some of the same badges as you, but now near as many. It looks like you were in it longer than me.

Thanks for commenting, Tricia. Yeah, go find yours, it’s a fun stroll down memory lane! I think I started in 3rd grade (or maybe second) but I did continue until I graduated high school. I “finished’ with the gold award!

Wow! It is so good to see that the Girl Scout vest and sash were not lost! They represent a lot of work, that is for sure. But fun learning too. You should post this on Facebook and see who else can find theirs! It is 100 year Anniversary of Girl Scouts this year. We were there for the 75th year! from Your former leader & Mom
